Peel

Magnificent waterways, world-class national parks, fine food and wine and an extensive number of trails make this easily accessible region (just 75 km south of Perth) a perfect getaway for a day or longer break.

The Peel region encompasses the townshops of Boddington, Mandurah, Dwellingup, Pinjarra, Serpentine-Jarrahdale and Waroona - with the region offering an abundance of forests, parks, rivers and other natural attractions.

The Mandurah foreshore and its meandering network of waterways make it a perfect haven for those who enjoy the water and what better way to experience these waterways than with a paddle. Alternatively, art lovers can enjoy the Federation Heritage Art Walk which will take you on an enlightening journey through Mandurah and Peel and feast on food and wine offerings along the way.

Inland you'll uncover the newly bustling adventure capital and evergreen forest township of Dwellingup - with bushwalking/hiking, mountain biking, 4WD and kayak trail options through jarrah forests and along the beautiful Murray river - with its winter rapids and slower moving segments. The region is also home to sections of the Bibbulmun Track and a Tree Adventure ropes experience that's great for kids.

Each town offers an array unique characteristics and attractions - including historic Pinjarra, resting on the banks of the tranquil Murray River, one of the oldest established towns in Western Australia. The area is also becoming increasingly celebrated as the horse capital of Western Australia, with its bridle trails.

Serpentine National Park features dense forests which also harbour a wealth of walking tracks. Serpentine Falls is a favourite picnic destination, with its cool, emerald-coloured waters - the falls are the perfect place to hike and enjoy a lazy afternoon.

The old milling town of Jarrahdale is a historic town where you can enjoy lunch at the local pub, enjoy delicious afternoon tea at one of the cafes or visit the stunning Millbrook Winery.
