Nestled on the banks of the eastern side of the Murray River, Island Pool is a pretty spot to spend a day. The Island Pool walk trail starts from the car park and is a one-hour loop through scenic jarrah forest and provides excellent views of the valley and the river below.
This walk leads up the Murray River valley and provides excellent views of the river below. As you follow the route, you transition from jarrah forest and wattles to areas where balgas dominate the granite outcrops. This trail can be enjoyed year-round. The seasonal appearance of wild-flowers makes this a popular trail during spring.
Island Pool is a great spot for walking, picnicking, swimming and paddling.
Campgrounds are available nearby in Lane Poole Reserve. Booking are made in advance via the Park Stay website.

Keeping your dog safe. Dogs are allowed in the recreation area of Lane Poole Reserve but must be kept in control and on a leash at all times. The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions undertakes 1080 baiting at this location to reduce the impacts of feral cats and foxes on native wildlife.
Meat baits containing 1080 poison are laid in or around this area on an ongoing basis. 1080 is poisonous to humans and will kill domestic cats and dogs. Please leave your pets at home or prevent them from entering this area.
