    Mount Augustus National Park, 1100km (16 hours) north of Perth
  • Degree of Difficulty

     Grade 4 - Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.

  • What to Pack?

    • Drink water regularly – carry and sip 3 to 4 litres of water per person per day. There is no drinking water in the park. • Hat, loose clothing, long sleeves and sunscreen – to minimise heat stress and sunburn. • Stay on the trail – by following the walk trail markers. • Sturdy footwear – important for this rugged terrain and unstable surfaces. • Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) – in an emergency, a PLB could help save your life.

    Undercut cliff edges; loose rocks and unstable surfaces; Extreme heat than can exceed 40 degrees in summer.
  • Prohibited Items

    No camping or open fires in National Park or Pastoral Lease . No pets
  • Access to the Trail

    4WD, Mainly unsealed roads. Roads may be closed after heavy rain. Check conditions before travelling. Carry ample fuel, water and supplies to cope with all possible occurrences - see Group D list.
