The Samphire Cove Trail takes you through the gated nature reserve, and continues on to a long boardwalk over the wetlands, with a viewing platform and information panels at the end. It is not only an excellent spot for bird watching, but also a great way to see some of the magnificent canal homes in Mandurah.

Whether you are interested in birds, wildlife in general, or just enjoy a stroll by the estuary, Mandurah's samphire areas are a fascinating and enjoyable environment to explore. Scenic boardwalks, two bird hides (one with all-abilities access), paver art installations (recently restored) and an information shelter make this reserve attractive and user-friendly. No dogs are allowed due to species nesting on the ground.

SaMphire Cove Nature Reserve is located on the north-western side of the Peel Inlet, adjacent to the Port Mandurah residential estate and north-west of the Mandurah Bypass Bridge. There is a carpark near the entrance, and toilets are available in the park, south of the bridge.

The walk is an easy 1.5 km return trail through the Creery Wetlands, fringing the Peel Inlet, near Mandurah. Walkers are led through a gated nature reserve, continuing on to a long boardwalk over the wetlands, with a viewing platform and information panels at the end. It is a great way to see some of the magnificent canal homes in Mandurah. It really is quite a peaceful place to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. Highly recommend getting out there when you can.

Great trail to be on! Easy access and great conservation effort. There is a narrow boardwalk where pelicans rest in the evenings, so they were amazing to watch. Don't forget that the best time for this trail would be October to March given bird migration!
