Macora means ‘wet season’ in the local indigenous language. Some of the granite outcrops are thought to be 400 million years old. From the high points in the trail there are views over Kwinana and even to Perth. Points of interest include an historic water tank and, beside the quarry face, the site of the old 1914 brickworks.
Wildlife to look for includes blue wrens, red tailed cockatoos, fantails and parrots. Flora in the jarrah and marri forests includes wattles, grasstrees, myrtles, grevilleas, hakeas, and in spring blue lady orchids and fringe lillies.

Bush Walk
Grade 2
No bushwalking experience required. The track is a hardened or compacted surface and may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps. Walks no greater than 10km. Suitable for families with young children.
