Learn moreAbout Coastal Walk Trail, Augusta
The Coastal Walk is the last leg in a network of trails following the Blackwood River and Augusta coastline (see Whale/Ocean Trail and Pelican/River Trail).
Along this section of the trail, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Flinders Bay and the Great Southern Ocean. Climb down and explore among the rocky pools and tiny sandy beaches. The trail ends at Dead Finish and a small jetty where you can throw in a line.
Dolphins can be observed all year round and from May to August, keep an eye out for migrating whales. Humpback and Southern Right Whales congregate in Flinders Bay each year as they begin their migration from the cold Antarctic waters to the warmer waters further north, where they will give birth to their calves.
