The Pelican Trail follows the banks of the Blackwood River estuary at the sleepy town of Augusta. It is magnificently peaceful, especially on calm evenings. For earlybirds, sunrises are spectacular. Often the tranquil waters are broken by surfacing dolphins and splashing fish.

As the name suggests, pelicans feeding and resting on rocks are an everyday event. There is nothing difficult about this trail and it is easily accessible from waterfront holiday homes and the town caravan park.

The Pelican Trail/River Walk is just one in a network of trails following the Blackwood River and Augusta coastline (see Whale/ Ocean Trail, Harbour Views Trail and Coastal Walk Trail).
