Top Trail:  Gabbi Karniny Bidi, Rottnest Island

Trail Alert

Some beach accesses along the Wadjemup Bidi have been impacted by the recent storm front, with the large swells and high tides causing significant beach erosion. Areas most notably affected are Strickland Bay and Armstrong Point. Directional signage at Marjorie Bay and Rocky Bay has also been damaged.

Temporary signage has been installed in these areas directing walkers to alternative roads until the beach sand returns naturally.

Overview

Gabbi Karniny Bidi is on Rottnest Island,  an A- Class reserve,  situated just 18 kilometres off of the coast of Western Australia. The highlights of this section of trail are the beautiful inland lake systems, an abundance of seasonal migratory bird life, fantastic access to areas that have been restricted in the past, unique fringing lake side vegetation and of course the likelihood of an encounter with our resident Island marsupial, the Quokka!
