Yued Ponar Trail, Lesueur National Park

About the Trail

The Yued Ponar Trail features an ancient, highly eroded and weathered landscape with a vast diversity of plant life. Due to low soil nutrients, plants have developed highly specialised adaptions creating vast diversity.

Walking the trail during wildflower season (August to November) is the best time to appreciate the stunning variety.  The trail winds through species-rich low heathlands and Wandoo woodland as it leads up to Mount Peron summit, where you can see sweeping views of the Indian Ocean.  It also offers walkers an opportunity to discover seasonal resources and view the country through Yued Noongar eyes.

Other walks in the park include the Mount Lesueur Walk Trail and the Gairdner Walk Trail, located at the Drummonds Recreation Site car park.
