The Yam trail covers the lower section of Lloyd Hughes Park around a small gully and central damplands with a stream flowing through during the winter and spring months of June to October.

Lloyd Hughes Park is popular for wildflower spotting through the winter and spring months, July to November. The park, also popular for birdwatching, has previously been mined for shale with remnants still visible along the trail.

Information on the trail and the park can be found on signage at the Trailhead on Martin Street near the corner of Marmion Street, with parking available along the verge of Marmion Street. Scan the QR Code on the sign for a map of the two trails within the park. Walk the trail in an anti-clockwise direction to help reduce the spread of Phytophthora Dieback by using the bootcleaning stations provided along the trail.
