Learn moreAbout The Window Trail, Purnululu NP
The difficult 6km return Window Trail, starts at the Piccaninny carpark before following the sun exposed, sandy and uneven Piccaninny Creek bed. The large pot holes found throughout the creek bed are formed by tumbling stones trapped in water whirlpools over countless wet seasons. Follow the signs to the turn off which leads you to the defined sandstone structure featuring a naturally formed window.
Please do not to climb on the window due to the fragile nature of the sandstone.
Please note: Purnululu National Park is open seasonally between April/May to December, weather permitting and is only accessible by high clearance 4WD only. Due to the remote nature of the park, make sure to read through the visitor safety of the park before visiting.
