This largely undiscovered, unheralded area produces some of the finest cool climate wines to be had anywhere in the world. There is an eclectic range of cellar doors in spectacular settings where tranquil, unhurried wine tasting experiences are on offer. Visitors can talk with the wine maker, grower or owner of the business at a leisurely pace with beautiful scenic drives traversing undulating orchards and farms, towering forests, lush pastures and blue skies in between.
The relaxed pace and the friendliness of the local people willing to give you their time, tell their stories and the history of the region will make the Southern Forests Wine Trail a unique experience.
These genuine, down to earth, family run wineries and cellar doors will bring you back to the romance of what the wine tasting experience used to be like once upon a time.
