This trail through savannah woodland features many birds, especially early morning before the day heats up. Early morning might reveal red-backed and variegated fairy wrens perching on the fence line, which follows part of the trail. On most mornings the woodland echoes with the beautiful calls of Rufous Whistlers and Pied Butcherbirds competing with Noisy Grey-crowned Babblers. Look out for red-winged parrots lighting up the blue sky with their brilliant colours.
Agile Wallabies are often seen feeding along the track then fleeing into the bush. Reptiles are also well represented, with dragon lizards, bluetongues and snakes sometimes encountered. On this trail you can include the viewing platform over Roebuck Bay where foraging wading birds can be seen at low tide. At high tide, you might lucky enough to see the rare snubfin dolphin.
