Learn moreThe trail starts at Sculpture Park in Mundaring, 30km NE of Perth, but can be accessed from mulitple points.
Spanning from Bellvue in the west to Wooroloo in the east, the trail is 41km long and suitable for walkers, cyclists and horses. The trail can be completed in shorter half day sections if preferred.
Passing through John Forrest NP, attractions along the trail include an old railway tunnel, Mundaring Sculpture Park, the Goldfields Pipeline, picnic facilities, numerous wineries, pubs and tea rooms, along with spectacular scenery and waterfalls.Â
Most points along the trail are accessible by road and the track is signposted with distances, interpretive trailheads and traffic crossings. The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail brochure, available from Perth Hills Mundaring Visitor Centre, contains a map as well as distance and elevation charts making it easy to plan your journey.

Bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may be long, rough and very steep. Directional signage may be limited.
Easy
Likely to be a combination of fire road or wide single track with a gentle gradient, smooth surface and relatively free of unavoidable obstacles. Short sections may exceed these criteria. Frequent encounters are likely with walkers, runners, horse riders and other cyclists. Suitable for beginner/novice mountain bikers in good health with basic mountain bike
skills and using off-road bikes.
