The City of Perth’s 28 parks and reserves are located on Whadjuk Nyoongar boodja (country) and we acknowledge that the Whadjuk Nyoongar people are the traditional custodians of the land on which these parks and reserves have been created. The City’s beautifully curated green open spaces cover one tenth of the city area and combine heritage, public art and water features to offer a break from the bustle of city life. Take some time out to experience the tranquility of Perth’s open spaces on this self-guided tour.

The trail intersects with the city's free CAT buses servicing East Perth, Northbridge, West Perth, central Perth and the foreshore (except Good Friday, ANZAC Day and Christmas).

We suggest that you split this trail into two or three parts over 1-3 days, perhaps reserve a whole day for Kings Park.

Be trail ready

Before starting this trail, head to the iCity Visitor Service in Murray Street Mall (near Forrest Place). Staff can provide information on which buses to catch, and they also offer a free guided tour of this trail, led by our qualified iCity volunteer tour guides.

Trail Accessibility

*Note that Victoria Gardens has two levels and parts may not be accessible by wheelchair. 

Streets in the City of Perth incorporate kerb ramps, tactile indicators and in the central area, crossings have audible signals. 

There are free CAT buses which will make getting to each park much easier. To find out more click here. All buses that operate on the Transperth bus network are fully accessible. 

Accessible public toilets are located throughout the City: Citiplace Rest Centre (Perth Railway concourse); State Library; Art Gallery; Elizabeth Quay and Perth bus and train stations; Allendale Square and Barrack Square. There are also parent's rooms at The State Buildings (Point Zero!) and Enex (Hay St Mall).

The City of Perth provides a number of parking concessions for people with accessibility requirements within the City. These include concessional parking rates to Disability Parking Permit holders when parking off-street within a City of Perth Parking car park and parking on-street (kerbside). 

Accessible CCP parking is available at the following locations: Queens Gardens,  Victoria Gardens, Mardalup Park, John Oldham Park, Terrace Road, Council House, James Street.  There is ample parking at Kings Park and street parking at Wellington Square, Harold Boas and Point Fraser.
