Ocean Beach Cycleway and footpath is an easy, family friendly dual-use cycle and walk path that links the centre of Denmark to Ocean Beach.  The pathway runs adjacent to Ocean Beach Road from the Denmark Visitor Centre to the Denmark Surf Life Saving Club.  It has direct linkages to other cycle paths in Denmark.

Ocean Beach, Denmark

The Denmark Visitor Centre provides cycles for hire. It also provides maps, information and booking services for accommodation, tours, activities and events offered in Denmark. It has a shop and interpretive materials, toilet facilities and day parking for cars, caravans and bus.

Ocean Beach Holiday Park is a Big4 Holiday Park with Caravan, Camping and Cabin accommodation. It has playgrounds and a small shop, and visitors can ride or walk to Ocean Beach or to Denmark town centre via the Ocean Beach cycleway and footpath.

The Ocean Beach Cycleway is a scenic, safe and family-friendly cycle and walkpath that is an easy ride off the roads all the way from the Denmark Visitor Centre to the Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving clubrooms at Ocean Beach.

The dual-use cycleway offers beautiful views along the way from residential and open farmland landscapes, to inlet water and ocean views closer to Ocean Beach. Places of interest along the way are the Little River, the Prawn Rock Channel, Ocean Beach Holiday Park, the Ocean Beach Lookout and the Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

The cycleway has direct linkages to other cyclepaths in Denmark, including the Inlet Drive cyclepath, the Munda Biddi Trail, the Denmark-Nornalup Heritage Rail trail, the Little River/Bibbulmun Track and the Denmark town cycle paths.

The pathway can be innundated in sections near Ocean Beach and Prawn Rock channel when the Wilson Inlet is full with winter rains.

Easiest

Likely to be a fire road or wide single track with a gentle gradient, smooth surface and free of obstacles. Frequent encounters are likely with other cyclists, walkers, runners and horse riders. For beginner/novice cyclists in good health with basic bike skills. Suitable for most bikes.

Trail Bike

Easy

Rider may encounter narrow, loose, soft, rocky or slippery sections and hills with short steep sections. Recommended for riders of intermediate skill level.

Difficulty Notes

Easy pathway but might have some sections with uneven surfaces, or that are seasonally innundated.

Hazards & Warnings

Beware of snakes, especially December - April. Some sections of the path can be uneven or with slip/trip hazards. Dual-use path is used by walkers and cyclists

Not a bad ride, the best bit is the end point, Ocean Beach & the iconic Prawn Rock Channel
