The Koomal Dreaming Didgeridoo Cave Tour is a guided cultural walk and cave experience located at Ngilgi Cave in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Led by a Wadandi cultural custodian, this experience combines a short bush walk with an interpretive cave journey rich in storytelling, ecological knowledge and cultural insight.

The tour begins above ground, where visitors are introduced to the surrounding landscape and its significance to Wadandi people. Along the walk to the cave entrance, your guide shares knowledge about native plants, seasonal movement, traditional tools and sustainable living practices.

Inside Ngilgi Cave, the experience deepens. Visitors learn the cultural stories connected to the cave and the landforms within it. The tour includes a didgeridoo performance in the cave’s natural amphitheatre, where acoustics amplify the sound and connection to place.

This is a guided-only experience and must be booked through Koomal Dreaming.

Aboriginal cultural content on this page has been developed with the guidance of local Traditional Owners and custodians. It is shared to provide insight into Country and culture, but does not represent all knowledge or perspectives of Aboriginal people. Trails WA would like to thank Koomal Dreaming for their input in creating this content.

Be trail ready

To make the most of your Ngilgi Cave experience, come prepared:

Wear comfortable, closed footwear – the bush track and cave surfaces can be uneven and sometimes damp.

Bring a water bottle – particularly in warmer months.

Sun protection is essential – hat, sunscreen and sunglasses for the outdoor walking component.

Dress in layers – the cave remains cool year-round, even on warm days.

Bring a light jacket – especially during autumn and winter tours.

Carry a small torch if preferred – although lighting is provided, some visitors enjoy extra visibility in cave sections.

Follow your guide’s instructions – this is an active cultural site and natural cave environment.

Arriving prepared ensures a comfortable experience and allows you to focus on the stories, landscape and cultural insights shared throughout the tour.
