Learn moreAbout Natures Window Walk Trail
Covering a massive 180,000ha, Kalbarri National Park encompasses sand plains, coastal cliffs and the spectacular deep gorges of the Murchison River.
Known as one of the most iconic locations within the park is Natures Window. The Natures Window Walk Trail is a picturesque, moderate, one-kilometre return walk beginning with a flight of stairs from the lookout at the carpark descending down to Natures Window, a wind-eroded opening in the layered sandstone that frames a view of the mighty Murchison river.
If you are lucky enough to visit during wildflower season (July to October) you will be met by a dazzling display of colour from the wildflower species of the region, many only found in the National Park, inluding Kalbarri Spider Orchid, and other common wildflower species, flame Grevillea, starflowers, smoke bush, orchids and many flowering wattles.
For the more enthusiastic bush walkers the challenging but spectacular 8km Loop trail connects from the Natures Window Lookout but be aware that there is no drinking water and limited shade along the trail. The Loop Trail is also closed after 7am from November to March inclusive.
