This short walk, starting and ending at Sculpture Park on Jacoby Street, loops around Mundaring’s townsite, showcasing some of the area’s historic buildings and landmarks.
Mundaring was declared a townsite in 1898, though the area’s history dates back to the 1870s, when a convict road party frequently camped here. By the late 1890s, European settlers began moving in after the construction of a spur line from the Eastern Railway to the site of what would become the Mundaring Weir, a key reservoir for the goldfields water supply. Vineyards and orchards were also established in the valleys to the south.
