This 10km return walk to the summit of Mount Lindesay (385 metres above sea level) offers colourful wildflowers in spring and spectacular views over the Stirling and Porongurup Ranges and Walpole Wilderness all year round.

From Denmark, a 23km scenic drive along Scotsdale and Mt Lindesay Roads takes you to the Mt Lindesay trailhead and picnic area.  The walk trail leads you down to the Denmark River and across a bridge.  After this, the track is steep for 500 metres.  It is then an easy grade walk for about 2.5km, passing through jarrah and mallee scrub before arriving at a granite outcrop.  Tall white trail markers guide you over the rocks.  Once at the summit, enjoy the panoramic views over farmland, the coast and the Walpole Wilderness.

This granite mondanock is the centerpiece of the Mount Lindesay National Park, home to threatened ecological communities. so please leave your pets at home.

Picnic tables and toilets are provided for ‘pit stops’ before or after your hike!

Mount Lindesay has steep drop-offs once you reach the granite section of the track. Dark granite can be slippery due to moss and lichen growth.

Well marked trail. A bit of climbing over smooth rocks required when you reach close to summit. During rains, you must have good hiking shoes to climb and watch your steps. Some rocky surface is slippery. View from summit is worth it. Not many lookout points until you reach the top.

Overall, moderately challenging distance and terrain.

Absolutely loved this walk! Wild flowers were fabulous and the views from the top were a real treat!

Great hike and very few good views until the summit. Great 360° view from the summit. Just be weary of steep climb on granite when wet and where moss is visible.

One of my favourites in the region, Mt Lindesay is a challenging hike with epic views and Wildflower season goes off.

We did this on a hot day in March. So we struggled a bit with the heat going up. There's a lot of shade though so wasn't too bad. I didn't tackle the last bit of granite rocks at the top but my husband did. Amazing views. Well maintained trail. Loved it.

Climbed it mid Jan on a 22 degree day. Really well marked on the way up but keep a look out for rock piles on the way down to guide u over the rocky sections. This would be mind blowing in wildflower season and incredible views up the top. Definitely take a jacket for the summit. We did it in 4 hours with a decent lunch break up the top and took heaps of photos/videos on the way.

We did this trail on Easter Sunday. We found it to be well sign posted. Had fun climbing over the rocks closer to the top (although I can imagine if wet this wouldn't be so fun). Enjoyed the fantastic panoramic views from the top.
