The Margaret River Wine Cycle Trail gives you a new way to explore some of Margaret River’s best wineries. Hire a bike in Margaret River (or Cowaramup for a longer ride) and get closer to nature while you savour some of the best food and wine the region has to offer.

This easy to ride wine trail has been designed for visitors to visit the “Dress Circle” of Margaret River wineries without needing a motor vehicle. Make your way through some of the world’s best wineries, stopping for a self packed picnic lunch, or dining in one of the best winery restaurants in Australia. Finish you ride, back to the bike shop, through the iconic Margaret River forest for that perfect end of tour experience. Remember to drink responsibly while cycling.

Your first stop is at Blue Ginger where you can collect supplies for a self catered picnic lunch and coffee and cake for the perfect start. Cape Mentelle is only 4km away and your first taste of what is to come. Tell the cellar door staff that you are on a cycle trail and they will let you out their back gate and into Xanadu Wines located behind. Leave by cycling down Xanadu’s driveway and on to Boodjidup Road which leads you to Stevens Road and Voyager Estate. Leaving Voyager Estate continue down Stevens Road to Leeuwin Estate. Return via Stevens Road to Gnarawary Road and turn right. 3kms east on Gnarawary brings you to the Wadandi Track. Turn left and head north to return to the township of Margaret River or Cowaramup.

If you’re starting your ride in the town of Cowaramup or you are looking to extend the distance of your cycle tour then the team at the Golden Jersey (1) will sort you out with a bike, helmet and go over the route to take to start your winery tour.
If you’re starting your ride in Margaret River then the team at The Hairy Marron (2) will fit you with a bike, helmet and bottle of water, before giving you directions and go over any questions you have about the tour.
