The Lefroy Brook Loop offers a scenic and shorter alternative to the 12 km return Gloucester to Cascades Walk. Beginning at the Cascades picnic area, the trail crosses the historic tramway and meanders through a variety of forest types, including stands of peppermint trees and sheoaks, as well as areas rich in ferns and reeds near the water’s edge. With a bit of luck, you might spot a trout or marron in the clear waters of the brook. The Cascades themselves are a picturesque series of waterfalls along Lefroy Brook. It's the perfect spot for a peaceful day of forest walking or fishing.

As you descend from the carpark to the picnic area, listen for the birdsong echoing through the trees. Water is central to life in the forest, and just a few steps from the picnic site you'll find a lookout, or you can take a boardwalk over a tributary of Lefroy Brook for a closer look at the falls. Please take care on slippery surfaces and keep a safe distance from the water’s edge.

Set within Gloucester National Park, this tranquil destination is around a four-hour drive south of Perth. Gloucester National Park is home to many of Western Australia’s native marsupials and wildflowers, which you may encounter along the trail. After your visit, you can either return to Pemberton on foot or hop aboard the Pemberton tourist tram for a relaxing ride back through the forest.

Great to walk amongst such a majestic landscape. Carry a fly net as flies can be a problem.

This is an easy walk with the kids. The scenery is absolutely beautiful! Perfect for photos.
We spent some time down by the waterfalls and then took an extra walk along part of the Bibbulmun Track.
