Learn moreAbout Lake Gwelup
The lake allows for passive recreation and there are also tennis courts and cycle paths located on the Lake Gwelup Reserve.
Enjoy a stroll on paved paths around Lake Gwelup. Walking past recreational ovals and a scenic wetland setting, the lake provides great opportunities for birdwatching. North of the lake you can continue to the border of the golf course then head back toward the lake, in spring you'll see blooming wildflowers here too.Â
Stop and take a moment at the Lake Gwelup boardwalk to the south of the lake where you can sit and admire all the birdlife the lake has to offer from its birdwatching platform. Also keep an eye out for rainbow bee-eaters who flock to the reserve from northern Australia and Indonesia to nest from October – December.
