Kwinana Loop Trail
The Kwinana Loop Trail is a 21 kilometre circuit around the perimetre of the city, offering a unique opportunity to take in some of Kwinana’s best views while experiencing the natural and cultural values of the surrounding bushland. The hills and twists of the Loop Trail make for an exciting mountain bike ride, a peaceful leisurely walk or the perfect facility for cross country fitness training.

The Loop Trail has numerous entry points throughout Kwinana, making it easily accessible for all who visit. There are several walk/cycle access trailheads along the trail and car parking is available at Thomas Oval, Sloan's Reserve, Homestead Park, Kwinana Train Station and Sandringham Park.
Chalk Hill Lookout is a noteworthy highlight, proudly exhibiting the Kwinana Industrial Strip, Cockburn Sound and the city itself.Â
The Kwinana Wildflower Reserve is located in Orelia, and provides a stunning display of flora during September. Â
The Loop Trail ranges in difficulty from easy to moderately challenging, depending on the section of trail walked. Â

Road, bus or train to Kwinana. Kwinana Train Station has direct access to Kwinana Loop Trail.
Trail Start
Sloan's Reserve off Harman Street in Leda is an ideal start point for the Kwinana Loop Trail, with parking, water and public toilets available.

Class 3
Moderate trail that may have short steep hills, rough surface, many steps or some rock hopping. Directional signage. Some bushwalking experience and moderate fitness required.
Additional information
Easy to moderate, depending on the section and length of trail. Some steep sections and uneven surfaces, while other sections are flat and paved.
What To Pack
What To Pack
Group B - Hiking & Long Distance Trails (Bushwalks and/or longer trails)
- Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (SPF 30+)
- Insect repellent
- Plenty of drinking water (as a minimum carry and drink 1 litre of water per hour of walking, per person).
- PLB or satellite phone
- Clothing to suit the activity, environment and weather conditions.
- Map/ Compass, do not rely on your phone in remote locations.
- Snacks/ Meals to keep your energy levels up on longer walks
- Extra food and water in case of unexpected delays
- Rubbish bag to remove all your rubbish
- Reference material such as wildflower wildlife guides.
- Whistle (for emergencies, six short blasts per minute)
- Small trowel for toilet emergencies, and a few sheets of toilet paper in a small waterproof bag.
- Personal first aid kit (check that items are clean, properly sealed, have not exceeded expiry dates and that used items have been replaced).
- Torch/ Headlamp
- Binoculars and camera (optional)

Drinking Water is available at Sloans Reserve, Homestead Park, and Sandringham Park.
Dogs on leads permitted.
Hazards & Warnings
Trail surface condition may vary, especially in steeper gradient sections prone to erosion in winter months.
The trail section between Bertram Road and Leda Boulevard occurs on the Wellard Road shoulder, caution is required for both walkers and riders.

Car parking, BBQ and Picnic Areas are available at Sloans Reserve, Thomas Oval, Sandringham Park and Homestead Park.
Public Toilets are available at Thomas Oval, and Sloans Reserve.
Lookouts occur in three locations along the trail - Roger Hamilton Lookout in Wildflower Reserve, Leda Lookout, and Chalk Hill.
