The Kalgan River is 140 kilometres long with the lower 9 km of the river taking the form of a drowned river valley with steep hillsides of forest and farmland, and the occasional outcrop of granite. The rivers history both colonial and aboriginal is intriguing, making this the best paddling experience in the region.
