Inlets, beaches, rivers, islands and a sleepy south coast town - there is a lot packed into this paddle!

Launching at Isle Road gives you the chance to explore all of these in a short, 5km paddle. Stop for a swim at Sandy Beach, marvel at the karri clad knolls as you glide between them on the channel between the Walpole and Nornalup inlets. Why not stop and have a look around Newdegate Island on your way past. Be aware that its other name is Snake Island. Watch your step!

This trail is 5 km one way. If you are planning to return to Isle Road, it is a 10km return paddle.

Offering protection from the wind, the Deep River is generally classified as easy with slow to medium moving water and few obstacles.

The Nornalup Inlet is exposed to wind, waves and tidal currents and is appropriate for medium to advanced paddlers. Weather conditions can change quickly and paddlers need to ensure that their skills are sufficient to manage the trip.

You can paddle to a range of destinations from Isle Road. Look for other suggestions in the Kapagup Nornalup Paddle Network on TrailsWA or on the trailhead signage at Isle Road.
