Learn moreAbout Glass Slipper, Giants Trails
The Glass Slipper takes you on a journey through the ancient tingle forest and you can see many of these giant trees along the way. One of the most impressive is the Pleated Lady. This red tingle tree has a huge buttressed base which looks a bit like Cinderella's ball gown. The buttress provides stability as tingles don't have a deep tap root like many other trees. Their shallow root system is close to the surface and is as delicate as Cinderella's glass slippers. The roots are easily damaged through compaction of the soil.
Near the Pleated Lady, you can ride your bike through the middle of a living tree! With a platform protecting the delicate roots, the Ride Through Tree is an experience not to be missed.
The best place to start this trail is at the Giants Trailhead although you can also begin at the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. It is a dual direction, dual use trail so be aware of other users.
Hikers, you can go for a short stroll on the Glass Slipper or make it a 7.2km loop by following Tinglebell deeper into the tingle forest.
Riders, go west on the Glass Slipper and take a right turn onto Gatekeepers and the thrilling descents on offer. Return to the trailhead via the Munda Biddi Trail and the Ride Through Tree. This is a 10.2km loop.
