Unlike other granite outcrops that are largely devoid of vegetation, Gathercole Reserve is covered with a huge variety of vegetation. The trail winds its way past fringing woodlands and huge granite boulders sculpted by wind and water, along narrow paths and over the top of the rock with sweeping views of the farmalnd below. 

Take time to read the numerous interpretive panels with some fascinating information about the plant and animal life along the trail, as well as the geology of the surrounding area.
