The first 6 km, from Minninup Pool to Soldiers Park, is sealed and suitable for prams and wheel chairs. The remaining 3 km to Telfer Pool on Lynne St is a gravel track.

The trail is all flat.

There are picnic facilities and toilets at Minninup Pool, Fred Scharf Lions Memorial Park and Soldiers Park, making the trail popular with families and children.

Keep an eye out along the river for a variety of water birds. The wildflowers are very pretty between July and November.

The trail crosses the river at a number of places, including the Swinging Bridge, about 500 metres upstream from Soldiers Park.

Parking is available at Minninup Pool, Fred Scharf Lions Memorial Park, Soldiers Park and Telfer Pool providing a number of different options, instead of walking or riding the entire trail.

Minninup Pool is a lovely deep spot along the river for swimming.

Opposite Solders Park is the 100-year-old Arboretum. These trees planted in 1922 from around the globe give a majestic vista along the east side of the river. They have survived three floods since planting began. Well worth a walk along the paved path to enjoy the giants. The Collie River Walk takes you either side of the river here in town and joins up with the same pathway at either end.

Had a really enjoyable walk with my daughter and dog recently. Completed the shorter section from Soldiers Park, east to the road bridge, across the river and back on the northern bank.

Lovely red bitumen, the East End Rail Bridge is a nice highlight.

PRO TIP: When you get to the eastern road bridge, short detour back towards town to the Federal Hotel for a refreshment or lunch!

Easy nice ride along with river and into town. Could have been better marked in some places.
