The trail is well marked and easy to follow and has 15 interpretative panels around the trail giving an insight into the natural or cultural history of the reserve.  The trail is a pleasant walk all year round, however it is more spectacular between July and October, when the wildflowers and orchids are in flower.

The alternate “Creek Connector” or “Orchid Walk” can be used to create shorter or longer trails of your choosing.

The Reserve was originally set aside in 1916 for the purpose of “Railway Water Supply”.  The rock channels that you walk down are part of the original water catchment system that was used to direct rainfall into the railway dam and is still used to water the town ovals.

It is thought the name originated from the many specimens of the West Australian Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda) which once graced the Reserve. They are no longer found at Christmas Rock but are elsewhere in the Shire.

Super easy walk, lovely wildflowers. Easy to extend the huge by following alternative trails.
