This dual use 9.8km loop trail follows the banks of the Chapman River. The trail is dual direction and open to walkers, runners and cyclists, so please abide by the Trail Code: share the trail, pass safely and courteously.

Bushwalkers and MTB riders can park at Spalding Park on the western side of the Coastal Highway and use the pedestrian bridge to access the north side of the river. Proceeding in a clockwise direction, head along the limestone escarpment where several tracks meander along the top, but all going in the same general direction.

There are several bridges along the track that can be used to cross over to the southern side of the river and head back to the start. The southern side is lower lying on a clay based soil and tends to be a faster more flowing affair.

This trail is dual direction.

I have done trail rides on horseback, and it's a great trail to get away from most traffic. There are lots of options for fast and slow speeds. Some parts are rocky, so shoes or boots may be needed if your horse has tender feet. Horse access from Fairfax Dve in Moresby, however if your horse is flexible, you can bend through the entrance from Brigades/Eadon Clarke Oval.
Another option is to go under the bridge, through Spalding Park to the river mouth, and back again.
