Read more about this trail

The Badjirrajirra Loop Trail begins at Thomas Carter Lookout on Charles Knife Road and traverses the rugged top of Cape Range. This 8 km loop trail (approximately 3-4 hours) is rated Class 4 and requires a moderate to high level of fitness, with uneven limestone surfaces, loose rock and little shade.

Along the way, the track winds through rocky gullies, minor gorges and open spinifex country, rewarding walkers with sweeping views across Shothole Canyon and out to Exmouth Gulf. Birdlife is often spotted throughout the range, and in cooler months the wildflowers add a splash of colour to the red earth. The best time to tackle this trail is from April to September, when temperatures are more comfortable.
