Yalbunullup Mountain Bike Trails, Yellagonga Regional Park

Welcome to the Yalbunullup Mountain Bike Trails at Yellagonga Regional Park. These trails offer 7km of cross-county and flow trails for beginner and intermediate riders, through bushland overlooking Lake Joondalup.

Located off Lakeside Drive on the north-western side of Lake Joondalup, this seven kilometre long trail network is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and abilities, featuring beginner and intermediate trails. The Yalbunullup Mountain Bike Network has been designed to provide accessible, family-friendly mountain biking that offers an open view to the lake and complements the surrounding bushland setting. Trails are classed as easy (green) recommended for beginner riders, and moderate (blue) recommended for intermediate riders with some technical skills.

Situated in the Yellagonga Regional Park, a leafy oasis in the heart of the northern suburbs, the trail network includes a carpark, toilets, large pavilion shelter and interpretive signage. Perfect to spend a day riding and exploring this area!

The name Yalbunullup was chosen in consultation with Traditional Owners and reflects the traditional Noongar name for the site. This park has a diverse cultural history. Its name acknowledges Yellagonga, the aboriginal leader of Mooro people. They once used this area for shelter and food during seasonal camp movements. It’s a culturally significant area and forms part of their Aboriginal Dreaming.

Supported by great organisations

Trails are free and bring so many benefits to our community by providing opportunities to have fun, get fit, socialise, explore and challenge yourself. But they also have to be managed and maintained which only is made possible through terrific sponsors, donations and/or volunteering.
