Learn moreThe Sheila Hill Trail begins from Ocean Beach road, (just north of Heather road) Denmark and ends at Lights road, Ocean Beach (at the beginning of the Monkey Rock Trail). From the town centre of Denmark, it is approximately 6km, taking around a 5-minute drive.
From the Sheila Hill carpark follow the plain yellow markers uphill until you reach the signed junction of the Bibbulmun Track which climbs gradually through tall Karri and Marri forests with beautiful ocean scenery and magnificent granite outcrops. Between September and November there is a large variety of wildflowers to be seen along the trail. Enjoy the extensive panoramic views from the summit of Mt Hallowell before decending past Monkey Rock, (a large granite outcrop worthy of a short detour) to the end of the Trail at the Monkey Rock carpark on Lights road. Dogs are permitted on this trail but must be on leash at all times.
The Sheila Hill Trail can be challenging with some steep rocky sections and caution should be excercised as the granite can be slippery. This site has Dieback cleaning stations close to the start and end of the trail. Please make use of these stations to prevent the spread of the biodiversity threat.
This trail is part of the many other smaller trails within the larger 1000km Bibbulmun Track.
