Completed the track on 31 May 2017 and it is a challenging, fun and scenic trail. I'd recommend coming in after a big rainfall or later in winter as it is still a bit dry early on. It is a well marked track and the majority is sheltered. There are some exposed areas. An above average level of fitness is required as there are some bits with a steep switch backs and quite a significant elevation change overall. Allow a good 4 hours to complete the track + breaks. Spotted at least 12 kangaroos (or they spot you first). Also saw echidnas and plenty of birds. Access is approx. 50min from Perth

The Numbat Track is my favourite hike I've been on in the as a day trip from Perth. Very well maintained, challenging and beautiful scenery. I wish I had discovered years ago and I cannot wait to return during the wildflower season.

Allow 4 hours at reasonable pace with 30 lunch break. Well marked tracks with quite a lot of elevation change. Every kilometre has different vegetation and a different view. Very pretty, especially with the rivers flowing.
