Sooooo much hootinanney fun! And they are doing lots to develop this area as well. The flow of this particular track is just magic. The Big Pine trail is just one in 'The Pines' MTB park. The trails mostly link up to form one lovely ride, but you can easily repeat your favourite trails.

The best fun you can have legally! The great thing about The Pines is that you can do everything even as a beginner, but it encourages you to develop the skills to do it faster and better. The individual sections are short and the whole layout is compact, but each segment has its own unique character. The 'Queen Stage' has to be Big Pine, with a variety of jumps, swooping bends and great use of contours. Due to logging (which was always accepted to happen), the layout will change over the next couple of years. Will be interesting to see how the extensive plans in the pipeline materialise. Combine a trip to the Pines with some of the more natural and technical trails around South Carters for the full Margaret River experience.

Well, yesterday - 17 August 2014 was my first visit to the Pines for the WA Gravity Enduro. After reading rave reviews by die-hard mountain-bikers I was looking forward to sampling some loamy goodness... and I found it! The trails weave through the regiment of pine offering up a pleasing and grin-inducing variety from tight, twisty berms you can rail to fast-flowing single track with jumps and bumps to keep things interesting and the heart pumping. Park the car in the fire road intersection , close your eyes, spin round three times and just ride in the direction you end up facing and in minutes you'll find something to whoop about. Trust me on this. If you want to ride trails built by like-minded bikers and you're in town - 'drop-in'.

Discovered this trail during the cape to cape, its now a must visit every time i am down in the area. Awesome flow, big berms, nice little jumps (all rollable) something different from the rocky hell we play in at Kalmunda.

How is it possible that I'm the first to rate the Pines? I've visited this area for three Cape to Cape races and a few random long weekend visits, and I'm yet to arrive back at the campsite/homestay/rental without a big stupid grin on my big stupid face. Kudos to MRORCA. Here's hoping that the quality of trails will be maintained once after the harvesting!
