The Deanmill Heritage Trail is an old rail line that has been converted into a multi-use trail. It also forms part of the Munda Biddi Trail. This moderately flat, well defined trail takes you through bush and farm land. The trails starts at Manjimup and finishes at the Deanmill. The first kilometre of the trail is sealed, and the remainder of the trail is gravel. In spring an abundance of wildflowers are on display.
In 1912, the tramway linked the sawmill supplying timber sleepers for the construction of the Transcontinental Railway, to Manjimup. The Deanmill settlement was named after the mill's first manager, Mr Alfred Dean. Having closed as an operating tramway in 1966, the reserve has been allowed to regrow and forms a major green corridor on the western side of Manjimup.
Trail is rated "Easy" but beware of traffic and other trail users.
