Macora means ‘wet season’ in the local indigenous language. Some of the granite outcrops are thought to be 400 million years old.  From the high points in the trail there are views over Kwinana and even to Perth.  Points of interest include an historic water tank and, beside the quarry face, the site of the old 1914 brickworks.

Wildlife to look for includes blue wrens, red tailed cockatoos, fantails and parrots.  Flora in the jarrah and marri forests includes wattles, grasstrees, myrtles, grevilleas, hakeas, and in spring blue lady orchids and fringe lillies.

Nice to have another waterfall trail in the burbs however walking through residential areas are not for me. The bush section was lovely with some great views of the town below.

Very disappointing, extremely steep at the start and then poorly sign posted, very easy to get lost with lots of sub trails branching off and no directions or signage. Watch out for the abandoned Camry near the water tower. Lots of ants nests along the way as well as swooping magpies. Try it at your own risk.

Lovely short walk close to southern suburbs.
Not very busy and beautiful views.
