This is really a walk trail as described. Although a good paddle is to be had here, don't start at the carpark as it is a walk to the riverbank that really should remain protected. Far better to launch at the boatramp off Gt Eastern Hwy, this is only 50m from the entry to Ascot Waters. If on the north of the river, launch at the end of Peninsular Rd, Maylands and paddle across.

A gorgeous little island to explore with trails for walking, riding - accessible for dogs, prams and wheelchairs. Plenty of picnic tables, car parking and space for throwing the ball or kicking the footy! I also love the waterways and all the little areas you can sneak through, looking forward to jumping on the SUP board and checking them all out. Beautiful oasis in the heart of the city, recommend spending sometime sitting, relaxing and watching the world (and black swans) go by. No toilet or water facilities on the island, so recommend a pit stop at one of the petrol stations near by, off the Great Eastern Highway or Guildford Road.
