Harewood Forest was logged of all large timber in the late 1800's. It has recovered and is now a great example of regrowth karri forest.

Now you can follow the 2.8km walktrail through the lush riverine vegetation and tall karri trees. The trail follows the Scotsdale Brook for the first ....m before climbing up through the whispery karri oak and karri hazel to the top of the ridge. The views back down the valley are lovely as you follow the trail back to the carpark.

For those who prefer a shorter walk, the first 800m of trail along the river is a great way to experience the karri forest.

Here are some reasons to visit Harewood:

- Interpretive signs along the path tell the story of Denmark's history.

- The different forms and colours of the fungi that grow here in the wetter months are quite amazing.

- The trail is alive with colourful wildflowers in Spring.

- It's a cool, shady spot for a picnic in summer.

- Best of all, you can walk with your dog at Harewood Forest!

Harewood Forest is located along Scotsdale road, 12km from the centre of Denmark (a 10-minute drive).

The project to upgrade the trail is a complete success. It is a thoroughly enjoyable hike and has the added bonuses of being dog friendly AND you can play Pokemon Go on the lower part of the trail.
