This short loop trail passes through rocky terrain and open Savannah woodland. The walk is not too demanding and easy for most active people.

Walkers have an opportunity to observe many bird species, especially early morning or late afternoon. Groups of red-chested buttonquails commonly shelter amongst spinifex. Colourful spinifex pigeons and red tailed cockatoos are birds to look out for.

The summit features views of the Cockburn Ranges, which really come to life near sunset. The trail also takes in the edge of the meteorite crater.
