This section of the Bibbulmun Track is a pleasant walk through the Beelu National Park, 40kms drive east of Perth. The trail snakes through a towering tuart forest and beautiful jarrah trees, dotted with balga and zamia. There is lots of birdlife offering birdwatching opportunities, and native animals including kangaroos.

The trail gradually descends downhill (and uphill on the return walk) through the bush to Hewett's Hut campsite, which has a three-sided timber shelter, long drop toilet, picnic tables and a rainwater tank that usually has water.

The trail departs from the parking area at the Camel Farm on Paull's Valley Road, Hackett's Gully, approximately 15 minutes from Kalamunda. At the end of the fence veer left and follow the Bibbulmun Track signage and trail markers (yellow triangle with stylised dreamtime serpent - the Waugal). The trail is marked in both directions.

The park comes alive with an abundance of wildflowers, especially orchids, from August to November.

The walk trail map can be downloaded from the Shire of Kalamunda website.

I am rating this so highly purely because of the accessibility for those keen to have an overnight Bibbulmun experience with their kids. Park your car at the farm, walk to Hewitts Hut and camp overnight and then walk back again. Easy as.
