Trails WA is proud to unveil the 2025 Top Trails List, celebrating the breathtaking diversity of Western Australia’s landscapes and trail experiences. This year’s selection highlights the very best Drive Trails (2WD and 4WD), Paddle Trails and WA Heritage & Urban Trails, offering adventurers, nature lovers and culture seekers unforgettable journeys through the heart of WA.

From the rugged coastline of Fitzgerald River National Park to the tranquil waterways of the Nornalup and Peel-Harvey Paddle Networks, this list blends beloved classics with exciting new additions. The Kimberley, Wheatbelt, Gascoyne and Goldfields regions shine as premier destinations, offering scenic drives, thrilling 4WD challenges and some of the most spectacular wildflower displays in the state.

Suzanne Hillier, Chairperson of Trails WA, said:   “This year’s list celebrates not only Western Australia’s stunning landscapes but also its deep cultural heritage. It’s been fantastic to see art trails recognised, including the Collie Mural Trail—a 25km walk and drive experience featuring incredible works from local and international artists—as well as the breathtaking Mega Mural at Wellington Dam. The Public Silo Art Trail is another standout, offering a unique way to explore the Golden Outback’s lesser-travelled towns while experiencing world-class public art.”

The 2025 Top Trails List is the result of an extensive review process, guided by an expert advisory group. Trails were evaluated based on their accessibility, uniqueness, environmental significance and ability to connect visitors with WA’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

2025 Top Trails Examples:

Example Drive Trails (2WD): Collie Mural Trail, Great Ocean Drive Trail, Public Silo Trail
Example Drive Trails (4WD): Holland Track, West Kimberley Crossing, Golden Quest Discovery Trail
Example Paddle Trails: Honeymoon Pool Kayak Trail, Mandurah Central Paddle Trail, Coral Bay Kayak Trail
Example WA Heritage & Urban Trails: Cossack Heritage Walk Trail, Kalamunda Fairy Door Trail, Kalgoorlie Heart of Gold Discovery Trail

With more ways than ever to explore Western Australia’s landscapes, we encourage everyone to get out and discover the 2025 Top Trails.

Trails WA extends its sincere thanks to our advisory group members and acknowledges the invaluable support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) for making this initiative possible.
