The CAT project is aiming to turn Collie into a mountain bike Mecca and the Wellington National Park Trails are a key part of the development. DBCA has recently awarded a massive 46 kilometres of trails as part of stage 2 and 3 of the Wellington National Park Trail Network. The trails will stretch from Potters Gorge and Wellington Dam in the east to the Mount Lennard Network in the West.
The new trails will provide riders the opportunity to experience the beautiful landscapes of the Collie River Valley, whilst the 200 metre elevation change will give riders seeking a challenge long climbs and reward them with heart stopping descents. The trails were awarded to two Western Australian companies Magic Dirt Trailworx who will build 31 kilometres of trail and Three Chillies Design who will build the remaining 16 kilometres.
When completed the new Wellington Network will incorporate the existing Mount Lennard Trails and give riders over 110 kilometres of trail to choose from in the picturesque Wellington National Park.
