Event Details
What is the event all about?
Oceans to Outback is a virtual fundraising challenge held every October to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). Participants walk, run, ride, or move a chosen distance inspired by RFDS statistics, raising vital funds to help deliver life-saving healthcare to remote, rural and regional communities across Australia.
What can the public expect?
The event runs for the full month of October, giving participants the flexibility to complete their distance whenever and wherever it suits them. Participants receive regular updates, fundraising tips, and can track their kilometres online or via the Oceans to Outback App. There’s also an inspiring online community Facebook group that participants can join to share milestones, celebrate progress, and encourage one another throughout the challenge.
What are the costs involved?
Registration is free. Participants are encouraged to fundraise as they go, with every dollar helping to keep the Flying Doctor flying.
Are registrations involved?
Yes. Participants register online, set their distance goal, and receive a fundraising page to share with family, friends, and colleagues.
When do registrations open?
Registrations are open from 11 July to 10 October.
