The Wilson Inlet Heritage Trail follows the alignment of the Denmark-Nornalup Heritage Rail Trail and the Munda Biddi trail, between the Denmark River Heritage Rail Trail bridge and the Hay River.  The trail passes through paperbark, banksia and eucalypt bushland fringing the Wilson Inlet, with rests and shelters along the way.  Sections of the trail are open for horse riding.

Starting at the Heritage Rail Trail bridge over the Denmark River near the rivermouth, the trail meanders gently through paperbark, ti-tree and eucalypt river flats, and along the northern shore of the Wilson Inlet to Springdale Beach, then through more open shrublands to Rudgyard beach, from where it continues on to the Hay River bridge on the South Coast Highway.

The trail can be walked in shorter 4 km sections, by leaving a second vehicle at Springdale Beach, or at Rudgyard Place or at the Hay River, to avoid having to return to the starting point at the Denmark heritage rail bridge.
