For something completely different, a stroll along the well-formed Wave Rock Walk Circuit shows how salt affects the land. Despite its damaging nature to farmland, the salty landscape can be starkly beautiful. Skeleton looking dead trees dominate and provide a dramatic sight, especially around sunset or sunrise.

After plenty of rain, the often dry lakes are transformed into a watery wonderland. Again, away from the salty areas, there are numerous wildflowers in spring. The trail is also suitable for bike riders. As with all official trails in the Hyden area, there is plenty of interpretive signage to inform the trail user.

This walk is suitable for families with small children in prams and for visitors with bicycles.  Enquire at the Wave Rock Kiosk about the quiz page available for children.
