York Walks - Wara Art Trail

Overview

York’s Wara Art Trail is the only place in the world outside Japan to see Wara Art, amazing giant-sized sculptures made from locally harvested wheat straw. Six examples of endangered Australian fauna are featured on the Trail which also passes some of York’s loveliest heritage buildings.

The first ever Wara Art sculpture in Australia! Organised by The York Festival, the Wara Art project in Australia is funded by Festivals Australia, the Australia-Japan Foundation, The Department of Local Government, Sport and Creative Industries, Healthways and the Shire of York.
