About the Trail
Schipp Road Walk is a challenging 4km loop following the picturesque Piesse Brook in the Kalamunda National Park, located 7 minutes (3.4 kilometres) from the centre of Kalamunda in the Perth Hills.
Schipp Road Walk departs from the carpark on Schipp Road, Kalamunda. It is a large car park with multiple sections, and it is possible to park right near the start of the track (marked by a white gate).
There are three different trail markers for this track: blue triangular markers, Shire of Kalamunda signage, and the Bibbulmun Track waugal markers.
The first section of the trail is wide and gently sloping, following the Friends of Piesse Brook Interpretive Trail. There are information panels along the trail describing the history, flora, fauna and landforms of the area. This section of the walk is family friendly.
Once you commence the Bibbulmun Track section the trail narrows and becomes steep and the surfaces uneven. The final section is particularly challenging, a steep descent on a rocky, loose surface.
The walk trail map and trail notes are available for download at the Shire of Kalamunda website.
