As an alternative to the 8 km Bigurda Trail, this short section of trail is highly accessible. Parts of it are bitumen and the rest is timber boardwalk.

Starting at the Natural Bridge car park the trail follows a sealed path to the Castle Cove and Natural Bridge lookouts,  where you have stunning views out over the ocean and the red banded cliffs that Kalbarri is famous for.

Returning back towards the carpark the trail veers off to the left and joins the Bigurda Trail past a sheltered lookout, where you can sit out of the sun and enjoy the views. Bring the binoculars because you may even spot a migrating whale between June and November.

The boardwalk continues following the cliff top all the way to Island Rock where there is another lookout.

Return the way you came diverting back to the carpark, just past the shelter.

There are public toilets at the Natural Bridge carpark, but no other facilities.

You can probably complete the trail in one hour but most people like to spend some time enjoying the views, taking photos and watching for whales.
